Frequently asked questions

How to measure your ring size at home?

Cut a narrow strip of paper (or use thread), wrap it around the base of your finger, mark the point of contact, and measure in millimeters. Compare it to the Circumference (mm) column (in EU/PL, the number corresponds approximately to the circumference). It's easiest to use our 1:1 tape measure (PDF) and print at 100% scale.

How do I check my size based on a ring I already have?

Measure the inside diameter with a caliper or an accurate ruler (to the nearest 0.1 mm), ignoring the thickness of the ring. Then read the size in the Diameter (mm) column.

Size 12 – how many mm is it?

Approximately 16.5mm diameter and 52mm circumference. Other examples: 7 ≈ 14.8/46.5; 14 ≈ 17.2/54. For the complete conversion, see the table above.

Does a wide wedding ring require a larger size?

Often yes. With a width of ~1 cm or more, it is usually +0.5 sizes (sometimes +1) more comfortable to wear than a narrow band.

EU/PL and US/UK – how to convert?

In EU/PL, number ≈ circumference (mm), e.g. 52 ≈ 52 mm. For full mapping to US/UK, see the conversion tables (values are approximate – different brands may round differently).

How to choose the size for a gift when I don't know the dimensions?

Borrow a ring worn on the same finger and match it to the hoops 1:1 (PDF). If you're torn between two sizes, choose the larger size—it's easier to slightly reduce it later.

Does the size change throughout the day/seasons?

Yes – temperature and swelling affect circumference. Measure in the evening, in neutral conditions, and leave a small margin of comfort in winter and summer.

Can I adjust the size after purchase?

In most models, yes (the range depends on the design/setting). Contact us – we'll tell you what adjustment range is safe for your chosen ring.

Which sizes are chosen most often?

In practice, women's sizes often fall around 52-57 , but it is best to confirm with a 1:1 measurement - hands and styles vary.

Why do different tables show slightly different values?

This is a result of rounding ( diameter = circumference/π ) and manufacturing tolerances. Different brands also use different rounding schemes. Therefore, always confirm the result on 1:1 wheels.

Size 11 – what is the US equivalent?

Approximate US 5¾ (5.75) . Approximate dimensions: diameter ~16.2 mm , circumference ~51 mm . Always confirm on 1:1 wheels or measure with a caliper.

What if the knuckle is much wider than the base of the finger?

Choose a size that fits over your knuckle and doesn't fall off when resting. You can enhance comfort with beads (small balls inside the ring), a spring-loaded insert, or a slightly elliptical ring shape.

Does ring size change during pregnancy?

Yes, often by +0.5–1 size due to water retention. Avoid very tight fitting; consider temporarily sizing up and adjusting after pregnancy.

Is the size the same on the left and right hand?

Not necessarily – the dominant hand is usually slightly larger. Measure the finger on which you will actually wear the ring (usually the ring finger of the left hand for an engagement).

What is the measurement accuracy and how to calibrate the printout?

Homemade accuracy is typically ±0.1-0.2 mm. Print the PDF at 100% and check the 0-100 mm ruler; if it differs by 1-2 mm, set it to "no scaling" and print again.
