Dubai — Gaston International, an investment company of the United Arab Emirates-based Jemora Group, has acquired Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd. , an ASX-listed diamond mining and exploration company, for approximately $10 million.
Lucapa controls a 40% stake in the Lulo mine in Angola —one of the most expensive diamond mines in the world. It was there that the massive 170-carat pink "Lulo Rose" diamond was mined.
The agreement also includes Australian assets: the Merlin mine and the Brooking project in Western Australia. The new owner aims to increase production, expand exploration, and strengthen Lucapia's position in the diamond market.
